EdJAM Writing Workshop
We are excited to share highlights from our recent Education, Justice and Memory Network writing retreat at LUMS in Lahore, arranged by Dr. Tania Saeed (Associate Professor of Sociology at LUMS, and EdJAM Co-I) and Dr. Sameen Mohsin (Lecturer of International Development at the University of Birmingham, and EdJAM Co-I).
From 23rd to 27th September 2024, we welcomed the EdJAM international team from Cambodia, Uganda and the UK. We had the privilege of screening the documentary, "Abia Boys and the LRA", hosting conversations with Director and Producer Professor Okaka Opio Dokotum (Lira University, Uganda) and Cinematographer and Editor, Mungo Eric. The EdJAM team discussed publications (coming soon) and planned for more collaborations in the future. Participants got a chance to explore Kartarpur, Wagha Border, learnt about Lahore from Ghazi Taimoor’s Lahore ka Ravi, and visited various museums around the city. A heartfelt thank you to Professor Kate Moles (Cardiff University, UK), Professor Okaka Opio Dokotum (Lira University, Uganda), Keo Duong (Royal University of Phnom Penh, Cambodia), Kerry Parsons (University of Bristol, UK), Mungo Eric, along with our EdJAM Pakistan partner, Arafat Mazhar & his team at Puffball Studios, and our faculty & staff at LUMS for making this retreat a resounding success!
