Sophiya Anjum

Sophiya Anjum is Manager, Academic Operations & Services in the Dean's Office, where she leads academic support and operational management. She supervises the academic advising unit and marketing & communications teams, and coordinates academic processes intra school and with external stakeholders . As an in-house mental health counselor, she provides support to students with focus on vulnerable populations and first-year concerns. Sophiya facilitates staff wellness initiatives, delivers professional development trainings, and develops institutional policies supporting student success and organizational effectiveness.

Aurangzaib Awan serves as Manager Budget & Faculty Affairs in the Office of the Dean at MGSHSS. In this capacity, he collaborates closely with the Dean of MGSHSS, Department Chairs, and various school and university departments to ensure seamless operations across the school. His responsibilities encompass three primary areas: Budget Management, Faculty Affairs, and Operations.

Hira Javied leads the units — Academic Support Lab, the MGSHSS Career Center, and the Peer Ambassador Leadership Program, integrating peer support to advance student success

Her operations remit includes handbook compilation and updates, grading oversight, and chairing quality assurance meeting with MGSHSS staff. She also coordinates the MGSHSS core Curriculum (including course flagging and coherent planning) and the STEM courses, overseeing enrollment and collaborating closely with STEM faculty.

Hira’s portfolio also includes the analytics for Dean’s Office, including faculty workload management, faculty committee coordination, development of the MGSHSS dashboard, and targeted analysis that inform academic planning and resource allocation.

As the school council representative for MGSHSS staff, she elevates concerns and coordinates with stakeholders to secure resolution. 

Additionally, as a member of Admission and Financial Aid Committee, she applies data driven insights to holistic applicant evaluation.

Maha Noor Qureshi leads the Academic Advising Unit at MGSHSS Dean's Office. She works closely with students to help them navigate course planning, degree progression and, and long-term career pathways, while also contributing to curriculum management at the school. She specializes in advising academically vulnerable students and is committed to continuously improving advising strategies to better support the student experience. Maha also works to ensure seamless coordination between academic departments and the Dean's Office, fostering a collaborative environment in the school. OR  Maha Noor Qureshi

Shah Zain leads the MGSHSS Career Center at the MGSHSS Dean's Office. He works closely with students to support career planning, higher education applications, alumni mentorship, and employer engagement, with the goal of improving post-graduation outcomes. He develops strategic resources such as the MGSHSS Alumni Database, Alumni World Map, and Career Handbook, and leads flagship school events including the Alumni Gala, Convocation, and Dean’s Honour List Ceremony. Shah Zain is also committed to fostering student engagement through networking activities, alumni-student panels, and school-wide initiatives that strengthen connections between students, alumni, and industry.

Nazish Riaz is a Website and Graphic Design Specialist, creating visually engaging, user-centered designs across web and print platforms. She combines creativity with technical expertise to develop websites that are attractive, functional, responsive, and aligned with branding and user experience principles. Nazish also visually communicates ideas through high-quality graphics, ensuring consistency and clarity across digital and print media.

Her operations remit includes website design, development, and content management, alongside graphic design and the production of promotional materials. She provides design support as needed for academic database management, communications, office coordination, and project management throughout the year.

Omar Rahman

Omar is responsible for the communications of the School and is supported by the rest of the Communications Team at Dean’s Office MGSHSS. His roles and responsibilities include content creation, editing, multimedia production, and social media management. He is also involved in long-term strategic communications planning and ensures consistent visibility across platforms. His role involves coordinating with Departments, Centers, and the Office of Advancement, as well as managing digital assets and information flows.

Musharfa Shah is an Academic Advisor at the MGSHSS Dean’s Office, where she supports undergraduate students through key academic decisions and transitions. She works closely with students through one-on-one meetings, offering academic guidance, supporting decision-making, and helping them address the challenges they face during their academic journey.

She also leads the Major Declaration process for all students, ensuring that placements align with institutional requirements while reflecting each student’s individual goals and interests. She also leads mandatory meetings with students to ensure all students receive adequate support. In addition, she oversees data systems, reporting and advising processes to support effective planning and execution.

Musharfa helps students clarify their goals, navigate obstacles, and connect with relevant campus resources. By combining structured advising frameworks with personalized, student-centered counselling, she fosters a supportive environment where students are empowered to make informed choices and thrive both academically and personally.

In addition to her core advising role, Mahlaqa manages transfers into the school, oversees the advising helpdesk, and maintains advising documents and the unit’s website. By blending personalized, student-centered support with efficient processes and systems, she ensures students receive timely guidance and the advising unit operates smoothly.

Raheel Ashraf is the Office Attendant for the Provost and Dean’s Office MGSHSS. He coordinates logistics for all MGSHSS events, ensuring timely setup and smooth operation. He manages Discussion Rooms in the Academic Block - overseeing student check in/check out and maintaining usage logs - and handles pantry services for the Provost and Dean’s Office, including boardroom setup and refreshments. Raheel also maintains the MGSHSS storeroom, organizing official documents and spare IT assets, and provides physical file processing and photocopy services for meetings and events.
