Mr. Baqar Hassan Syed

Baqar Syed is a Teaching Fellow in the Study of Religion stream in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences. His research and teaching interests include Islamic intellectual history; Islamic historiography; medieval philosophy and theology; and Sufism. He has published an article on the modern South Asian reformer Shiblī Nu'mānī's attempt to construct a historical narrative in the service of theological reform.

Currently Syed is completing his PhD dissertation on the historiography of Ibn Khaldūn and the reception of his historical ideas in modern South Asia.
