Advanced Summer Learning Initiative (ASLI)

The MGSHSS, with the support of the Gurmani Foundation, designed and implemented a four-week pilot project in July 2018 by the name of Advanced Summer Learning Initiative (ASLI). As part of this initiative, the MGSHSS offered training to 37 students (completely funded) in the areas of reading/comprehension, writing, and communication skills in English along with a focus on mathematics and critical thinking approaches. Students were required to attend classes (five hours a day, four days a week) with highly qualified faculty, participate in activities with peer mentors, and take weekly excursions to cultural sites. The program ended with a farewell dinner followed by a screening of a farewell video compiled by the students.
